Frequently Asked Questions

What items can be donated to PA S3DA?

Virtually anything can be donated – just ask us! We don’t just need money and archery-related products and equipment. Things like office supplies, cleaning supplies, kitchen items, etc. are always in need. PA S3DA hosts the Keystone Challenge annually, and at this event all youth archers receive door prizes, which could be anything you’d like to donate, even promotional items. We also like to conduct raffles frequently, and we are in need of items which could be used for this purpose. Even discounts at your business are much-welcomed donations.

If I donate cash, how will it be used?

Monetary donations are generally placed into what we call the “Monetary Awards Fund“. Each year, the PA S3DA hosts The Keystone Challenge, an event marking the end-of-season for our youth archers. At this event, ALL archers are eligible to win a monetary award. These awards are held in a bank account, in the name of the archer, until they reach the age of 18. Each year, we give away 4 of these awards. The current amount of one monetary award is $500.00.

Is PA S3DA able to provide me with non-profit paperwork?

Yes. Our PA State Treasurer, Shannon Koons, will work with you to ensure you have all the required paperwork needed when making donations to PA S3DA. You can reach out to her if you have any specific questions. We are always willing to add your name and/or your company’s name to any of our signage and other print items.

Can I donate old bows and arrows (or other archery stuff)?

Of course! While we do not provide equipment to archers, we always welcome donations of ANY archery-related equipment. Often times items can be re-used or repaired and provided to those who might not be able to otherwise obtain it. If you have equipment you would like to donate, please reach out and let us know what you have. We’re always grateful for these types of donations.

How does PA S3DA make money other than donations?

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, PA S3DA generally does not “make money”. For regional and state events, PA S3SA only receives 20% of the registration fees (we also pay credit card processing fees and national program fees). We are reliant on donations of all types to keep the organization moving forward. Donated items which can be used in raffels,

A Unique Opportunity

When we learned about PA S3DA, we were simply blown-away by the program. Watching these kids compete and have fun while doing it, even being from competing teams, it was quite something to witness. We were more than happy to donate funds to sponsor a monetary award for this fantastic youth program.

Friends for Life

After learning this is a non-profit organization, and also learning that a handful of parents were funding it to keep it afloat, I couldn’t help but jump in and help out. This is a very different sport, and the kids participating are from all walks of life – but one thing they do have in common is that they are all part of a larger “Archery Family”. I was happy to be able to help out.

Door Prizes

Our grandchildren participate in the program, and we finally got to seem them compete this last summer. Seeing how much fun they were having with all their friends, it was clear to us that we should donate. We own a small business and were able to provide some door prizes for their “goodie bags”.

Doing What We Can

We don’t have much to give, but this program is a large part of our son’s life. It has given him a whole new look on life and friendships – after having a very rough early childhood. Donating a raffle prize just made sense!
